Message from Mom: I'm a Neonatal NP, midwifery assistant, postpartum doula, and lactation consultant. At a minimum, I need care for three 8-10 hr days, 8/9 am-5/6 pm M/W/F, with the occasional Saturday for my postpartum home visits and parent classes usually that require about 4-6 hrs of care. If I am called to a birth overnight, I may need someone to arrive at 7 am until I can get home when my husband goes to work. We don't have any pets. Our girls are 8 and 5 and homeschooled. The baby boy is 16 months. We need about 30 hours of care a week with the possibility of going full-time.
About the Children:
Our oldest daughter is 8 years old, and she takes dance twice a week.
Our second child is 5 years old, and she too takes dance twice a week.
Our youngest is 1.5 years old. He was slightly premature and has a cyst in his brain. He has mild motor delays requiring OT weekly that mom takes him to, but he is doing very well cognitively.
Their Ideal Nanny: Our ideal nanny is a reliable, quick learner with critical thinking skills, organized, structured, able to help with homeschooling, nonsmoker, and being flexible is crucial. Someone who takes the initiative to help around the house with the kids' laundry, dishes, etc. We are a naturally-minded family, and we use cloth diapers. We would also like our nanny to help with homeschooling, doing arts and crafts with the kids, taking them on outings as well as being open to traveling with the family.
Additional Job Details: Driving is required in this role. Car will need to accommodate three car seats. Mom is an integrative nurse practitioner and uses medicinal herbs, homeopathy, etc., rather than OTCs and prescriptions. We don't feed the kids food dye, sugary cereals, etc. Having a nanny familiar with this lifestyle or at least open to it would be great.
