Job Summary
A family in Highland Park, Texas, seeks a full-time Household Manager (HM) for immediate hire to provide generalized support to complement their lifestyle and needs. The HM works with Family Office staff and the household team to provide one-to-one support to the Principals and children, including duties outlined below and other ad hoc projects as capacity allows. Regular responsibilities are broad and vary greatly on a day-to-day basis. However, the majority of time will be directed toward keeping the household meticulously ordered, functionally sound, and well-stocked according to the fluctuating needs of the family.
Apart from the technical knowledge needed to perform duties satisfactorily, true success and long-term retention in this position rest on the HM’s soft skills and personality traits that will enable the ideal candidate to flourish in a fast-paced, dynamic, and demanding environment. A small team of highly skilled, supportive professionals leading the Family Office will work closely with the HM to process and solve expectations as they arise.
Job Duties include Administrative Support, House staff training, property and ground management, clothing care, courier services, travel support, family errands, entertainment and hospitality and event support, and other needs as directed by the family.
Professional & Personal Traits
• Extreme attention to detail with disposition toward beauty and order
• High sense of urgency and keen time-management skills used to tackle a heavy workload
• Adaptability — not easily derailed by shifting instructions and rigid expectations
• Ability to retain job satisfaction in a high-stakes environment where criticism is regularly received
• Compatibility with no-nonsense, direct forms of communication and limited social interactions
• Emotional fortitude — ability to persevere with tact and resolve through tough situations
• Proficiency with modern technology
• Strong sense of discretion regarding private and confidential matters
Benefits & Compensation
Benefits include health insurance, two weeks paid vacation, and 401K with employer contribution after 1 year of employment. Compensation is commensurate with experience and negotiable.
Onboarding & Advancement
The HM will work alongside Family Office staff for the first ninety days so that job duties are mastered before responsibilities increase. Staff will provide intensive training and offer guidance through the initial learning curve to ensure success in the position. Ongoing support will be given as appropriate and needed.
The HM has the opportunity to grow in both responsibility and compensation. Over time, higher-level duties may be assigned—including vendor management, supervision of additional household employees, managing additional household services including culinary & childcare, and management of additional residences—that will command an increased salary.
