Job # 98518: Positive And Nurturing Family Assistant Needed In Paradise Valley (N Scottsdale Rd and E Chaparral Rd)

Agency Point of Contact for Job # 98518: Kate (480) 586-3012

Message from Family: Hi there! We're the lucky parents of two beautiful boys. We're relocating to Paradise Valley and we sadly cannot bring our wonderful nanny with us, as her family is in Los Angeles (where we currently live.) This fall, our firstborn is starting Kindergarten and our youngest begins Preschool. It's a new schedule for us, so we're looking for someone with flexibility as we navigate this next stage of life.

Our jobs require travel and we keep the family together as much as we can. We're very hands-on parents; though our work requires a nanny to help us make the schedule work, we're normally both home when we're not traveling for work. During the week, every morning and evening is family time and weekends are pretty sacred. We're extremely lucky to have fun jobs and great kids; we're looking for someone to join our family who likes to travel, cook, read and have a good time :)

About the Children: Our oldest son, a bright and hilarious 5.5-year-old, has a wonderfully inquisitive nature. He's quick-witted and always keeps us laughing. He loves cars, music and all things he can use to build - especially Legos! But he loves nothing more than his little brother. We are regularly told that he's really advanced verbally by his teachers and by other parents. He loves words and his vocab grows every day. He's also a really deep thinker; he's a sensitive kid with a great sense of humor and he tends to be a rule-follower.

Our youngest son, a 2.5-year-old sweetheart, loves music, animals, nature, and anything his big brother wants to do. He has a natural affinity for music that's been present since birth. He's usually singing or humming and is currently trying to learn to whistle. He loves letters and the sounds of words. He asks for at least 6 book read to him a day, which is great for us! He has a few food allergies; peanuts, cashews and pistachio but we're working on exposure therapy with an allergist that's going pretty well!

Our Ideal Nanny: First and foremost, we'd love someone with a positive outlook and a nurturing way with kids. We've been very lucky to have a nanny with an early childhood education degree and we've learned a lot from her along the way. We see this as a partnership and we're excited to find someone else from whom we can learn as these boys grow up. We'd love someone who likes travel, art projects, cooking, language, reading, make-believe; you don't have to love all of those things, but that gives a sense of what we like to do in our household. We are looking for someone who uses a gentle parenting approach. Brownie points for someone who is bilingual, English and Spanish (but not a requirement).

We want YOU to enjoy where you work! We'll make every effort to see that your needs are met because we consider a nanny to be part of the family.

Additional Job Details: As our kids will be in school during the day, we're looking for someone to help us with school runs, meal prep, homework, laundry, etc. We know this will be a new stage of life so we can't be sure of the exact day-to-day activities, but we think it'll be a mix of nannying and light household errands.

Travel: Due to the nature of our jobs, our travel plans can be unpredictable. Our general plan is to spend the school year in Phoenix and the summers in Los Angeles. However, we've learned that things can change quickly. For example: Two summers ago, we spent several months in London. This summer, work took us to Cleveland, New York, and Australia.

We aim to keep the kids in one place during the school year, so our school-year location should remain stable. During the summer months, we plan to live in Los Angeles, but other travel may still be required. A passport will be necessary for international trips.
