Job # 43258: Reliable And Travel-Ready Family Assistant Needed In Denver, CO (E 8th Ave Pkwy & Colorado Blvd)
Agency Point of Contact for Job #43258: Kate (480) 586-3012
Message from Family: We are a busy family of four looking for a full-time Family Assistant. We have two wonderful children who will both be in school full-time this fall. Dad frequently travels for work and Mom works part-time at home for most of the day. We are looking for an extra set of hands to keep everything running seamlessly.
We love to be active (hiking in summer, skiing in winter, playgrounds year-round). Travel is a big part of our lives, both on a personal and professional level. We try to create a home environment full of creativity and curiosity balanced with structure and routine. We know it takes a lot of work to keep our home running smoothly; we're fortunate to have help from our cleaners (2x per month), chef (1x per week), and family who visit from time to time. We do not have any pets. We do not smoke and prefer to work with non-smokers only.
We are looking for a professional Family Assistant who respects our household and values proper etiquette, both in behavior and teaching it to our children. It's important to us to have someone who is accountable and reliable. We need a Family Assistant who is versatile and adaptable, able to handle different situations with ease. Emotional maturity is key, as we value open communication and the ability to take feedback. While we're open to suggestions, we do have a specific way we like to run our household and appreciate someone who can align with our approach.
About the Children: Our oldest is a 5.5 year old boy who will turn six this fall. He is so excited to start kindergarten and experience all the fun that awaits. He is kind, considerate and social. He's happy to play with friends when at school, but also enjoys quiet time tinkering, building and exploring at home. He has no special needs.
Our youngest is a bright and bubbly almost-three year old girl. She's enrolled in preschool and loves being in the classroom environment. She is always up for a good time and isn't afraid to try new things. She loves being with her big brother and enjoys arts and crafts, using her imagination to play pretend, reading stories and going to the playground. She has no special needs.
Their Ideal Family Assistant: Our ideal candidate is professional, educated, kind, organized, and loves kids. Someone who is equally comfortable with Family Assistant duties as they are playing with toddler-age children. Because this job is split between Family Assistant and childcare tasks, it's important we find someone who truly excels at and enjoys both.
We'd love someone who is proactive and takes initiative, someone who is not afraid to ask questions but can also accept feedback sincerely and graciously. Family Assistant should be excited to travel, (sometimes at the last minute), and comfortable managing long packing lists. Multitasking should come naturally too, and you should find running a series of errands each week fun rather than overwhelming.
We prefer to work with non-smokers only. It's very important to us that we find someone who loves traveling as much as we do. Must be self-sufficient, adaptable, and flexible. We all know traveling with kids is an adventure in itself, so it's important you can roll with the punches and remain calm under pressure.
Additional Job Details: The primary role will be getting the school day off to a great start. This includes preparing the children's breakfast, packing lunch and snacks, and helping with backpacks, shoes, coats, etc. This fall is the first time the kids will be at separate schools, so there may be some days when you'll be asked to drop one child at school while a parent takes the other.
Once the kids are off at school, your standard tasks will include light housework and local errands. You will sometimes be the point person for household services/visits.
When school gets out, we'll likely ask you to pick up our youngest from preschool. From then until 5 PM, it's playtime with both kids at the house. In general, we use this time for creative play, no TV. As part of your role will be driving the children, you must have your own car, a clean driving record, and valid insurance.
Travel: Frequent travel, must have a passport or able to obtain one, able to travel on a whim, multiple times throughout the year international and domestic, travel stipend provided.
