Message from Mom: We are a two-physician household with a varying schedule. We both have jobs that we must be present for, and reliability is very important to us. The mother works from home about 50% of the time and the father works away from home. Our child needs care before and after pre-school, help with getting to activities, and care when he is sick. We are looking for someone long-term as we anticipate the same needs when our son starts elementary school. We don't have any pets, and we do have regular house cleaners. Daily driving is required for this role.

About the Child: He is 4 years old and is quiet and shy until he gets to know you. He loves trains, boats, and building things. He is an observer and gets involved when he feels more comfortable. He loves reading books and learning about his latest interest. He can be very determined when he has an idea and wants to try it out. He does not have any special needs. It makes him feel the best when people/adults spend quality time with him.

Their Ideal Nanny: Our ideal nanny would be first and foremost be safe and engaging with our child. They will provide and encourage enriching play and activities, but also have lots of fun. They will encourage reading and exploration of interests. The nanny would be timely and reliable. The nanny would be able to see if there were things that needed to be done and complete them without specifically being asked (I am often too busy to make lists of what needs to be done). As I often work from home, the nanny would be comfortable taking primary responsibility for the child/home while I am working but home. The nanny would be respectful and considerate of our privacy.

Additional Job Details: We need 50% childcare and 50% household duties. Childcare would be before and after pre-school, transport to pre-school, preparing breakfast, lunches, and snacks. We would also need help with the child's laundry, toy clean up, preparing activities, and transport to and from activities. At the home, we would need help with light cleaning (we have regular housecleaners), kids' laundry, family errands (post office, dry cleaning, library etc), grocery shopping, and family meal preparation. We will provide recipes so the meals would be fairly easy to make.

Compensation: $28 to $32 per hour DOE
