Frequently Asked Questions
Why should I be represented by your agency?

Working with our agency has many advantages! Typically working with a professional, reputable agency offers higher pay rate, legal pay and less leg work for the Newborn Care Specialist! We assist in advocating for you, setting up the interview, and getting you matched with a family! We truly value our Newborn Care Specialists!

What are the next steps after my agency interview?

The first step is to sign your Nanny Agreement and send in your requested documents. Next, wait for your resume to be shared with the family and continue to apply for other positions.

What should I bring with me to the family interview?

This is your time to shine! We share your resume with the family via email but it never hurts to have copies of your printed resume and letters of recommendations with you for the family to keep.

When will I hear back about a job I applied for?

Once you apply for a position, the Placement Coordinator will contact you if you are a good fit for the family. Depending on where the family is in the placement process, you could be contacted the same day you apply or even a week later. Once you are being considered for a position, you will receive an email letting you know that your resume has been shared with the family. The Placement Coordinator will reach out to you to set up an interview with the family.

Am I employed through A Perfect Fit or through the family?

APF is a referral agency, therefore, you are not employed through our agency. You will be employed through the family that hires you unless you qualify as an independent contractor.

Why is training and continuous education important?

Training is important so that you are receiving relevant, science-based information on newborn care. You may have the best intentions, but without proper training, you may actually be putting the baby at risk.

Do you require a NCS certification to work with your agency?
