Message from Dad: I'm a single father raising two adopted 10-year-olds. After the loss of their mother in 2020, it's been just my daughters and me, but we're fortunate to have a strong family network, with Grandma playing a very active role in their lives. I'm now looking to expand our support system with some additional help. Our needs include supervising homework, driving the girls to after-school sports practices, guiding them in completing chores, preparing dinner, and helping with baths and bedtime.
About the Children: My oldest daughter is almost 11 and incredibly bright, with a creative and artistic side. She has ADHD and benefits from guidance and occasional redirection to stay focused on tasks like homework, chores, and keeping her room tidy. She's passionate about sports and has recently started playing volleyball and dodgeball. With a strong support network—including family, school, and a psychologist—she is thriving in an environment that encourages her strengths and interests.
My youngest daughter is 10, though she is small for her age and developmentally about two years behind, both physically and emotionally. Born with prenatal exposure to substances, she was been diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome and ADHD. Despite these challenges, she is one of the most loving children you'll ever meet. She has a huge love for swimming and attends lessons twice a week. Supported by a strong family network, a dedicated school team, and a psychologist, she is making great progress.
Both of my daughters were adopted (though not biologically related) and lost their adoptive mother in 2020.
Their Ideal Nanny: We're looking for a nanny who is loving and caring yet task-oriented, with the ability to adjust to each of our daughters' unique needs. This person should bring a fun, lighthearted approach, engaging the girls effectively while helping with homework, providing guidance, and acting as a positive role model. We value someone who understands the importance of structure, is firm yet compassionate, and can seamlessly become an extension of our family. Nanny is required to have a clean driving record.
