Job # 15864: Busy Scottsdale Family Needs A Part-Time Nanny (N Thompson Peak Pkwy & E Bell Rd)

Message from Mom: We are looking for a nanny to help raise our children. Our home is a busy home with 3 children and 3 different sets of activities. The house can also be busy with our two dogs and one of us working at home part time. Our primary focus is someone to be present with the kids to include playing, activities, homework, and helping the kids to their activities. Additional requested activities can include meal prep, children's laundry, light household work, or errands. All of those activities can be negotiated.

About the Children:
Our oldest child is 14 and is an incoming freshman. He enjoys playing sports, is open to arts, and general games.

Our middle child is our only girl. She is entering middle school and enjoys singing, acting, and also volleyball. She also enjoys arts and crafts.

Our youngest is entering fourth grade and enjoys basketball and baseball. He also enjoys playing with his siblings and is also open to arts and crafts.

Their Ideal Nanny: Our ideal partner in raising our children would be someone who is warm, and genuinely interested in being present and active with the children. That might include listening, being open to a variety of activities given the different interests of the children, and someone who is comfortable in managing 3 different people with 3 different personalities. The children are just that, children. So, they are learning new things, experiencing new things, developing their independence, and also trying to figure out their limits. So, patience will be important. Introducing someone into our home is a big decision, and we have historically grown very close with our nannies. So, ideally, we are looking for someone who has the potential to stay with us for several years. Lastly, our children will be studying Spanish, so are open to someone who is bilingual, although that is not a requirement.

Additional Job Details:
We are really looking for someone to become a partner with our family to help raise our children. Our goal is that this individual becomes integrated into our home for years to come with the primary focus of being present with the children.

Because consistency is important for all, while there are additional duties listed, we can determine together if those will be agreed upon responsibilities. We will work to share a schedule with you each month regarding days, and activities. The ability to work additional days or hours will be shared and agreed upon each month. We appreciate that it takes time to plan time away, so we will provide advanced notice when we will be away, and will work with you to support your time away, and if possible find alternate hours in the month to help offset the time away.

We ask that the individual provide their own car for use. We will determine together if we will incorporate mileage/gas into the base rate or if the preference is a separate mileage subsidy. While driving is a core responsibility, most driving will be within 10 minutes of the home.

The children have asked for the ability to work with the nanny to be able to plan things like after school treats, play dates, or things like going to the movies. We would make sure the rules of the home are shared so that those decisions can be made, and also make sure that any costs are covered accordingly. Lastly, we will determine together how to manage times when the limits are tested, or not respected so that the children understand the nanny is supporting the rules of the home, and empowered to make decisions to that effect.

Expected Job Duration: 1 year with the possibility of being extended

Duties:
Light housekeeping
Childs laundry
Cooking for children
Cooking for family

Schedule: Mon to Fri 1:00PM to 5:00pm
(Willing to increase to 23 hours a week to help with household duties.)

Compensation: $28 to $30 per hour DOE

Benefits: Gas Mileage Reimbursement
