Message from Mom: We are a young family of 5! Our home location, where our future nanny will work, is in a clean, safe, friendly gated neighborhood nestled at the foot of the beautiful McDowell Mountains with plenty of nearby access to beautiful parks, libraries, and more! We are very family-oriented and every few months have grandparents visiting us. We view our nanny as a part of our family and we are looking for a nanny with similar values. We enjoy traveling, discovering new adventures in and around Arizona, and spending a lot of time being active and outdoors. We keep the kids busy with school and plenty of extracurricular activities most days of the week. We hope that our future nanny has a lot of energy and enjoys being on the go! Our home environment is tidy and very well organized. The kids have a printed school/activity schedule and daily meal plan schedule which is clear and easy for nannies to follow. Toys and pantry items are labeled. The children have been trained to follow routines and put their belonging back where they go. A nanny who is also tidy and organized will thrive in our home environment! We do not have any pets. We do have a housekeeper who comes once a week for detailed heavy cleaning of our home.
About the Children:
Eldest is a 6-year-old boy who is in kindergarten and is consistently getting honors at school. He leads by example, is a good helper, and dotes on his little sisters. He is active in sports (golf, soccer, tennis), plays piano, and loves building legos. He is currently challenging himself to solve the Rubik's cube!
The second is a 4-year-old girl who attends preschool. She is sweet and sassy. Loves picking out her clothes and getting her nails done. Her preschool teachers love her and say that she is a very good friend to her classmates. She loves being a helper at home. She is talented in dance and art.
The third is a 3-year-old girl and is the baby of our family! Born on Christmas Eve as a preemie, she is small but mighty! She loves helping with household chores, going to the park, arts and crafts, and reading. She will be in preschool in the Fall! Special needs: severe peanut/tree nut allergy. Needs caregiver to be mindful of her allergies and comfortable administrating allergy meds including epi-pen (if she ever has a severe allergic reaction)
Their Ideal Nanny: Someone who loves children and is family-oriented. A nanny who has a laid-back personality, flexible, and is easy to get along with. An experienced nanny that can function independently and multi-task without getting easily overwhelmed. A nanny who is active, alert, and in good physical fitness to be able to care for multiple active children! Punctual and reliable. Clean and organized. Safety and hygiene-conscious. Must have experience with food allergies and administer medication such as an epi-pen.
Additional Job Details:
On a typical day, nanny comes to our home, preps our kids for school, preps breakfast, and drives our kids to school. The nanny then comes back to our home to do the tasks of the day (example: family laundry, dishes, errands, organizing, etc.). Then it is time for picking up kids from school and driving them to their after-school activities, helping with homework, bath time, and then dinner.
Driving:
Our position requires a nanny to have a car that can fit 2 car seats and a booster seat and the nanny will have to drop off/pick up kids from school and drive to various activities. We do offer mileage reimbursement for all miles driven on the job! Due to driving, we need a nanny with a registered vehicle, AZ driver's license, a clean driving record, and no use of marijuana, alcohol or controlled substances while working.
Allergies and working with sick children:
Our youngest daughter has a severe nut allergy and so we ask to keep our home nut-free and keep your personal snacks/lunch nut-free. We need a nanny who is comfortable with administering or learning how to administer medication such as an epi-pen in the event of a severe allergic reaction.
We would need a nanny who is comfortable with taking care of kids who are feeling sick and giving them over-the-counter children's medication as needed.
Health:
We do not require our nanny to wear a mask on the job unless it is mandated locally, OR unless you are sick, OR unless one of our kids is sick! We do require that our nannies are up-to-date on all their immunizations including the covid-19 vaccine. A pre-employment health exam form is given to our new hires for their healthcare providers to fill out.
We require that our nanny does not smoke and/or have a person that smokes in their vehicle or place of residence.
Background check:
We will be assisting our nanny with applying for a Level 1 Arizona fingerprint clearance card (if they do not already have one) or applying for one before their start date.
Payroll and benefits:
We do pay legally, which means we use a payroll company to pay out a nanny's earned wages with taxes withheld. We offer paid vacation (2 weeks), paid sick time (accrued up to 24 hours/3days), and mileage reimbursement for miles driven while on the job. A nanny employed with our family can expect a yearly raise and/or bonus!
