Message from Family: My family of 6 is a very creative energetic crew. We are health-conscious and love a good laugh. We are looking for someone who can become a trusted, long-term part of our family and help keep our busy household running smoothly. We would love someone who can be an extra set of hands, jump in where needed, and grow with our family for years to come.
About the Children: We have four children, ages 14, 12, 10, and 2.5. Our older children are active and creative and enjoy drawing, anime, volleyball, and surfing. Our youngest loves cooking, swimming, reading, and dinosaurs! He is currently nonverbal, so we are looking for someone who will be patient, engaged, and interested in finding ways to support his development and communication.
Their Ideal Family Assistant: We are looking for someone who is trustworthy, patient, flexible, proactive, and organized. We appreciate someone who asks questions, communicates openly, and takes the time to understand how our family operates. We would love someone who can go with the flow, has a great sense of humor, and is comfortable taking initiative rather than always waiting to be told what needs to be done. It is also important to us to find someone who is willing to independently research and learn about things that may be new to them, including developmental needs, autism, and different ways of communicating. Our ideal person enjoys cooking, is health-conscious, and is comfortable balancing childcare with Family Assistant responsibilities. We are hoping to find someone who wants to stay with our family for at least two years.
Driving Requirement: We will primarily provide a vehicle for work-related driving. However, if our car is unavailable, the Family Assistant may occasionally need to use their personal vehicle and be reimbursed for mileage.
Live-In Option: The family is also open to a live-in arrangement for the right candidate. Private accommodations are connected to the family home and include a separate entrance and private kitchen. The space is currently being used by a family member during an extended visit but is expected to become available around mid November. Compensation may be structured differently for a candidate who chooses the live-in option. Some relocation assistance may be available for candidates relocating from another Hawaiian island.
