Phoenix Nanny Job

Job # 35397
Ongoing Occasional Nanny Needed For Two Sweet Kiddos in Phoenix, AZ (W Camelback Rd & N 19th Ave)

This job has been closed.

Nanny

Message from Family: Dad is a trauma surgeon, and Mom is a trained physician assistant and registered dietitian who has been a devoted stay-at-home mom since our first was born. We're an active, outdoorsy family who loves spending time outside. We also have a sweet family dog, though we keep him and our children separated.

We're looking for a kind and patient caregiver who can provide occasional respite-style support, offering consistent and trusted care for our children a few times a month. Consistency is important to our family, and we hope to find a caregiver who can develop an ongoing, trusted relationship with our children!

About the Children: Our oldest is a bright and loving almost 3-year-old boy who has autism. He loves books, swimming, music, lights, and sounds, and he brings so much joy to our home. He communicates in short phrases (1–2 words) and participates in several therapies. While he can become frustrated at times, he's easily redirected and has a wonderfully sweet, fun personality. He does require close supervision, as he can wander off when uninterested, and he's still learning about safety and awareness of his surroundings.
Our goal is to find someone who truly wants to learn about him… all his unique strengths, routines, and therapies. Someone who can engage with him intentionally for a few hours on a semi-regular schedule. We hope this will help him grow more comfortable being home with someone other than Mom and Dad while still having his needs met. We're currently working on ADLs and various themed learning activities. He attends school Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, except Thursdays, which are his rest days.

Our daughter recently turned one and is an absolute delight, sweet, fun, and incredibly smart. She adores her current nanny, who is a wonderful fit for her.

We're looking for someone who can occasionally care for both children while focusing on supporting our son's therapeutic and developmental goals in a safe, nurturing way.

Their Ideal Nanny: We're looking for someone who embodies kindness, patience, and a genuine respect for children. Our ideal nanny is calm, compassionate, and motivated to learn and grow alongside our family. Someone open to understanding our son's unique needs, interested in learning about autism and his therapies, and comfortable supporting both children in a gentle, structured way. Above all, we value a caregiver who can seamlessly integrate into our home and become a trusted, consistent presence for our family! There may be occasional times when we ask our nanny to drive, so we'd love someone who feels comfortable and confident driving our children when needed.

Start Date: ASAP

Expected Job Duration: Long-term

Schedule: Guaranteed a minimum of 20 hours per month, with most hours falling on weekends and/or evenings. The exact schedule will be discussed and may vary from month to month based on the family's needs and the nanny's availability.

Compensation: $29–$35 per hour DOE
** The nanny must be willing to register with the family's respite agency
