Message from Family: We are a dual-physician family in Scottsdale looking for a thoughtful, dependable Family Assistant to support our home, two active boys (ages 11 and 15), and two mini golden-doodles. We're looking for someone who is kind, emotionally grounded, and takes pride in both caring for children and helping a household run smoothly.
Our current assistant will be leaving for medical school, and we are hoping for a smooth transition for our family.
The Role: This is a hybrid nanny/house manager position. When the kids are home, the focus is on being engaged and present. Someone who genuinely enjoys connecting with preteens and teens, participating in their world, and building a strong, respectful relationship while maintaining clear boundaries. The boys are often out in the neighborhood with friends (riding bikes, playing, etc.), so we're looking for someone who is comfortable setting clear expectations around check-ins, communication, and timing, while allowing for appropriate independence. Our 11-year-old uses a watch for communication, and our 15-year-old recently got his first phone.
During school hours, the role shifts more toward household support, including meal prep, grocery shopping, errands, laundry, walking the dogs, and keeping things organized and running smoothly. We have someone who comes in to clean once a week (she's been with us for over 10 years) and a yard service every other week.
We're looking for someone who is proactive, uses good judgment, and can move easily between childcare and household responsibilities.
About the Boys:
15-year-old: Social, curious, and very conversational; enjoys baseball, football, any water activity, art, and bike riding.
11-year-old: Kind, independent, and fairness-driven; enjoys sports-basketball, football, baseball, games, time with friends, and collecting (Pokémon and sports cards)
Both boys are active and fairly independent, but still benefit from a steady, engaged adult presence and guidance. During the school year, their afternoons are often filled with sports and activities, so the role includes frequent driving and staying on the go. In the summer months, we'd love someone who can take a more proactive role in planning fun, engaging outings, such as trips to a water park, indoor/outdoor activities, or local adventures. Over the summer, our goal is to continue helping them build independence in a supported, age-appropriate way.
They do best with calm, direct communication and respond well to someone who is consistent, respectful, and emotionally steady. They enjoy conversation and being included in an age-appropriate, collaborative way. They want to know that their caregiver truly has an interest in engaging with them.
As a family, we value connection, mutual respect, and an active lifestyle, and we try to keep screen time limited in favor of more engaged interaction.

• Active, creative, and enjoys an outdoorsy, on-the-go lifestyle

• Dog-friendly (two sweet mini Goldendoodles)
• Comfortable preparing simple, healthy meals
